Information Overload!

I consider myself pretty savvy on what's current in technology. A million years a go when Al Gore invented the Internet, I had Mail! and I naively talked with strangers in chat rooms!  Then I joined Facebook as soon as LSU was given access (for those of you that don't know...in the early stages of Facebook, it was only available to university students with a valid college email address).  I did MySpace (does this still exist?!! I forgot my password and haven't logged in in years.), and have a Blogger, WordPress, iGoogle, Picasa, Twitter, YouTube, Skype, and Vimeo account. I got the iPhone right when it came out and have tons of apps to go along with my subscription addiction. . Then I got HootSuite to manage my social media applications. I subscribe to Groupon, LivingSocial and a zillion other daily emails offering me some "deal". And I just recently created a new email address to transfer all the daily emails to so that every morning when my eyes are barley open and I reach for the phone on my nightstand I don't have a panic attack when I see 50+ emails in my box!

Is it just me? Is anyone else completely consumed by all of this? Don't get me wrong, I LOVE having access to all the info but I wonder if it's good for me, for everyone. I must admit that I never really feel rested, my mind is always running and I feel less productive because I am constantly interrupted by all of these mediums.

Meanwhile, I stare out my office window or at the summer ocean theme on my iGoogle page and think about how nice it would be to disconnect from it all.

Then my phone chirps at me as I receive a text.

He sleeps!

The nights have been pretty rough for us lately. Not sure what is going on with the Brady Boy but he has not been interested in sleeping. Brady was a great sleeper until he started cutting teeth at 5 or 6 months and he hasn't slept since. We will have a few 2 - 3 day sleep streaks but then it's back to his same old tricks. He goes to bed pretty easily then wakes at all hours of the night requested MAMA, MAMA ,MAMA. Actually, two nights in a row at around 2pm he woke demanding pancakes! WEIRD, I know! So I tried a little experiment last night (some mothers might shun me for this but I was sleep deprived and desperate). I'm not a fan of medication...if it's not serious I  like to give your body a chance to kick things on their own without the help of over the counter medicines. But last night I gave Brady some Benadryl even though he had no "allergy" symptoms. What a miracle...He slept from 8:30pm to 7am! It was a glorious night sleep and I feel (and look) 100 times better today!

I don't know about you but I am completely overwhelmed by how fast life seems to be going by these days! I feel like with the blink of an eye it's Monday again and I spent little of no time doing what i really want to do over the weekend. I'm not sure who invented the 5/2 work vs. play week but man are they lame! I'm really ready for a vacation (event though we just went on  a week long trip to Orlando last month). I feel like I have the brakes on and everything around me is speeding by. I'm going to need to reevaluate my weekend "obligations" and start carving out some me & family time.

Happy Valentine's Day!

I'm not usually that big on celebrating Valentine's Day but having a baby boy has a way of changing everything! Yesterday we had a Valentine's Day Brunch with the family complete with heart shaped chocolate chip pancakes! They were delicious. They we hit up the park where Brady & Ava both had meltdowns so we left and and took naps.

This morning Brady woke up to balloons, Ms (M&M's) and a Cars card that plays "Life is a Highway" when you open it. He has proceeded to open and close it over an over making me crazy!

We have lots lovely red heart shaped surprises for Brady throughout the day! Hope he likes them!

Hi My Name Is...

Kristen. Nice to meet you!

I am totally new to the blog world. I admit I have been spying for quite some time so I am comfortable going it alone but I am just now getting around to actually making my mark. Took me some time to come up with my blog name....actually, more time than it took me to pick out my son's name! I wanted something that was personal to my family but still described me and my life. So for all of you that I am meeting for the first time...My married name is Clew and my maiden name is Kain, Therefore Clewless & Kainiac is quite perfect. Especially, since I am often running around like a manic and have no clue what I am doing! Good thing no one will actually see this post as no one is "following" my blog just yet. I promise I will get better.
